SHEET MUSIC GENERATOR · REPRODUCIBLE INPUT TEST

Sheet Music Generator: What Inputs Can It Actually Use?

Answer: The tested image route accepted a printed score PNG, a simulated scan PNG, and a simulated phone-photo PNG, but all three produced the same 196 parsed note-on events and did not distinguish the three inputs; other input types are untested here.

What the existing fixture actually measured

The source score was self-created and contains four notes: C4, E4, G4, and C5. The table below copies the three recorded fixture rows from the route test. “Extra” means output events outside those four source pitches; “missing” means source pitches absent from the output.

What this does and does not answer

This run shows that the three distinct image fingerprints yielded one identical MIDI fingerprint. It does not establish an accuracy rate, and it does not test typed notes, MIDI, MusicXML, audio, PDF, handwriting, or other source types. Those inputs are therefore unmeasured on this page.

The site converter itself is an audio-to-MIDI tool for recordings. It does not perform optical sheet-music recognition. For the full route details and downloadable fixtures, see the sheet music to MIDI route test.

How to reproduce the comparison

  1. Download the printed score, simulated scan, or simulated phone-photo fixture from the route-test evidence section.
  2. Run the same image route and download its MIDI output.
  3. Parse note-on events and compare them with C4, E4, G4, and C5 using the same definitions in the table.
